Summit venue

The
Organization of the Islamic Conference has
announced, through its official spokesman
Ambassador Atta Al Manan Bakheet that a
decision has been taken in conjunction with
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to hold an
Extraordinary Islamic Summit on 5-6 Dhul
Qaida 1426H (7-8 December 2005) in Makkah Al
Mukarramah.
The Extraordinary Summit will be preceded by
a preparatory meeting of OIC Ministers of
Foreign Affairs on 4 Dhul Qaida 1426H (6
December 2005).
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King
Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz will address the
Summit at its inaugural session.
It is worth noting that the Custodian of the
Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin
Abdulaziz, had launched an invitation,
during last year’s pilgrimage season, for
the convening of this Extraordinary Summit
to review the current state of the Islamic
Ummah and to explore potential options and
recommendations for the
formulation of a vision that would enable the
Islamic Ummah to tackle the present and future
challenges.
